JAMMU, Aug 22: Inter District Divisional Level Competitions of Jammu Division in the disciplines of Chess, Badminton, Rope Skipping and Squay Martial Art for Girls U/AAG began today here at MA Stadium.
The matches were declared open by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu, in a simple and well attended function.
In Chess U-17 Girls, Avni of Jammu district beat Mansha of Udhampur in 1st semi-final while Ananya of Udhampur defeated Isha Bhagat of Jammu in 2nd semi-final. The final will be played tomorrow between Avni of Jammu and Ananya of Udhampur.
In Chess Under-14 Girls, Arushi of Jammu district defeated Bhavana of Jammu in 1st semi-final whereas in 2nd semi-final, Rashi of Jammu crushed Manvi of Udhampur. Arushi of Jammu will lock horns with Rashi of Jammu in the final match to be played tomorrow.
In Badminton Under-14 Girls, Ramban district beat Kathua by 2-0 sets and Kishtwar district trounced Samba by 2-0 sets while in U-17 Girls, Udhampur defeated Kishtwar district by 2-0 sets and Poonch registered win over Ramban by 2-0 sets. In Badminton Under-19 Girls, Poonch district beat Kathua by 2-0 sets, Ramban thrashed Kishtwar by 2-0 sets and Samba defeated Udhampur by 2-0 sets.
