Avni wins Board Prize in SGFI Chess C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 21: J&K’s Avni Gupta won Board Prize in the 63rd School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Chess Champions-hip held at Warangal, Telangana.
She was accompanied by FIDE Arbiter Bindu Pathania.
Atul Kumar Gupta, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Chess  Association alongwith other members lauded the efforts of Avni, a student of Heritage School for bringing laurels to the State.
The State Chess team was sponsored by the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
The Association organized a felicitation function to honour her for this achievement.
Meanwhile, in the meeting of the All J&K Chess Association held at Hari Palace, Taranvir Singh Gujral was nominated as Chairman of the Selection Committee of Jammu division. He has a vast experience of being closely associated for organizing various major events in J&K State.
