JAMMU, Mar 11: The Orange Education, New Delhi conducted a preliminary examination in October 2015 to select students from all over India for a free visit to NASA, USA.
Quite a few schools of Jammu took part in the examination, among which 185 students were from KC Public School , out of which 20 were short-listed to take part in the second and last phase of the selection held in February 2016 through an on-line web portal examination.
The short listed students of KCPS for this examination were Vansh Vardhan Singh, Anushka Raina, Samarth Gupta, Ayush Sharma, Shivya Pandita, Chaynika Yadav, Maulik Jain, Amodhini Karwani, Mansahejpal Singh, Mehak Chobber, Rutkar Bhat, Akula Raina, Sambhavi Gupta, Avneesh Dhar, Ayushmaan Sharma, Eklavya Gandotra, Avinash Gupta, Adhyoksh Jyoti, Nipun Bhagat and Shivanki Gupta.
The results of the final selection were declared on March 5. Ayushmaan Sharma of Class 9 brought laurels not only for the school but also for the state of J&K by getting the All India Ranking of number 1 and thereby qualifying for a free trip to NASA, USA or a cash award of Rs.1, 75,000.
The other students of KCPS who featured in the All India Ranking between 6 and 50 are Sambhavi, Avneesh, Eklavya, Avinash, Adhyoksh, Nipun and Shivanki , would be given consolation prizes.
The selection process in Jammu for this examination was coordinated by Shobhna Sethi of KCPS.
