SRINAGAR, Apr 17 : Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad has decided not to contest Lok Sabha polls from Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.
Provincial president DPAP Mohammad Amin Bhat told Excelsior that the party has decided to field Advocate Mohammad Saleem Parray for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

“I thank my party leadership for nominating me as a candidate for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat. It is an honour for me that I have been given a chance to serve the people of Jammu Kashmir,” said Advocate Mohammed Saleem Parray.
Bhat said that Azad was not interested in contesting the LS polls right from the beginning but was forced by the party. “He will not contest the LS polls but will be our Chief Ministerial candidate for the Assembly elections whenever they are held in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
