JAMMU, Mar 8: Janipura police today arrested a so-called Sadhu (baba) on the charges of harassing a college girl and trying to forcibly develop illicit relations with her in Janipura locality.
According to the police, the baba identified as Varinder Kumar alias “Baba Bablu” of Janipura Colony was arrested for harassing a college girl for the past few months and forcing her to develop illicit relations with him.
Few months back, the girl had approached him (baba) as she had some problems and wanted them to be cured by the baba. After some time, the baba asked the girl to marry her but she flatly refused and stopped visiting his place.
The baba threatened the girl of dire consequences for refusing to marry him and develop illicit relations.
Today the harassment level reached its beak when the baba reached the house of the girl prompting the victim to cry and raise and alarm publically. On this, a FIR No. 52/2014 under Section 294/509/504/506 RPC was registered by police against the baba at Janipura police station and he was arrested.
The arrest was made by a Janipura police party led by Hillal Azhar, SHO, Janipura police station.
