Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur Cricket Tourney concludes

SRINAGAR, July 8: First ever Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur 20-20 cricket tournament, with 20 Sikh teams as participants concluded at cricket stadium STC (Station Training center) Humhama, here yesterday.
The tournament was organized by Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Budgam, well wishers of Komal library in association with Border Security Force (STC Humhama).
The closing ceremony of the tournament was presided over by Rajendra Pandey-DIG (Ops) BSF, S Dharamveer Singh Oberoi (MLC, NC), S. Surrinder Singh Channi (Senior Congress Leader), Dr Hartej Singh (Principal Physical College Ganderbal), S. Jarnail Singh (Executive Director Peaks Automobiles) and other dignitaries of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Budgam.
The final match of the tournament was played between Mehjoor Nagar Club and Mattan Khalsa. Mehjoor Nagar won the toss and chose to bat. While batting first they scored 160 runs and while chasing the target Mattan team was all out at 135 runs only. The captain of Mehjoor Nagar Club Goldy Singh scored 106 runs and was declared man of the match as also man of the tournament. The match was followed by the prize distribution and closing ceremony of the 1st Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur T20 Cricket Tournament.
20 teams drawn from all districts of Kashmir province participated in the event.
