KATHUA, July 14: Former Minister and founder of ‘Democratic Movement’,  Babu Singh  has expressed his serious concern  over the recent deaths in Kashmir following the killing of Burhan Wani and urged Government to tackle the problem politically.
In a statement, Babu Singh said that the J&K State was again heading towards extraordinary situation and dangerous upheaval, turmoil and mass alienation. “This dangerous and alarming situation of Kashmir, if not normalized, can push entire J&K State into a protracted civil war and deadly Indo-Pak military conflict,” he feared and urged the Central as well as State Government to tackle the Kashmiri protestors democratically and politically.
Maintaining that the current upheaval, unrest, volatile situation and militancy in the State was  not new one but  rooted in the 1947 communal partition of India,  Babu Singh said  that terrorism and militancy was  not the basic problem but  the offshoot and outcome of the J&K political dispute.
“History and time demands, a just, rational, permanent and compromising solution of the J&K trilateral dispute which reconcile the genuine interests of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and India,” he said.
Babu Singh demanded from the State and Center Governments to revisit the unreal and faulty J&K policy which has been proved counterproductive so far and immediately, start the dialogue with Kashmiri people, their organizations and separatists also in order to normalize the present dangerous situation.
