Backward areas people bearing brunt of Govt’s wrong policies: PDP

KATHUA, Oct 3: General secretary of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Thakur Balbir Singh today said that backward areas were the worst victim of the wrong policies and mis-governance of the present regime headed by Omar Abdullah.
Addressing series of public meetings in Rampur, Tallan, Dharalta, Beral, Parnalla, Seri, Mooni, Plail, Bahonre  and Mahanpu areas of Kathua district in connection with the visit of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Singh said residents of whole State were bearing brunt of the mal-administration of the present regime but the inhabitants of backward areas were the worst victims. He said that all the welfare schemes confined only to papers.
Pointing towards rampant corruption in the State, Singh said that one after another Minister is being exposed but the Government was not serious to check the menace of corruption. “It seems that corruption has been legalized under the present dispensation because from top to bottom, every one has been involved in corruption with one or other way”, Mr Singh added.
He said that corruption has sneaked from top to bottom in the administration and even office of the Chief Minister was under scanner, PDP leader further said that in the last Assembly election, both National Conference and Congress had made a number of promises with the people but these promises remained only on papers. He said that except befooling the people nothing has been done during the last three years.
Sudesh Sapolia, Joginder Singh, Prem Singh, Akthar Ali, Dhani Ram Sharma, Mohammed Iqbal, Sadhu Ram and others also spoke on the occasion.
