Badminton C’ship commences at Reasi

REASI, Nov 7: Three-day District Reasi Badminton Championship was inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailender Singh at Indoor Complex Maari, here today.
About 60 players from different parts of the district are participating in this championship. In a series of 60 matches around 32 players for ‘Men Single’ and 26 players for ‘Men Double’ will lock horns for the championship titles.
The winners of this event shall participate in the UT level championship.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest conveyed that Jammu and Kashmir Police is providing the avenues to the youth, so that they can show their hidden talent.
He further said that youth of J&K have been taking the benefits of these activities organised by Jammu & Kashmir Police from time to time. “Sports activities are a prerequisite for a healthy youth and youth of Reasi are participating in these events with enthusiasm,” he said.
Surinder Sharma, president Badminton Association Reasi expressed gratitude to J&K Police and SSP for sparing time from his busy schedule to promote sports activities.
