SAMBA, Dec 19: Samba District Badminton Championship, organised by the District Association, concluded at Indoor Stadium, here today with prize distribution among the winners.
A large number of players and other distinguished guests attended the finals and prize distribution ceremony, wherein Keshav Dutt Sharma, Chairman DDC Samba was the chief guest who gave away prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Jai Ram Sharma, president of the District Association presided over the function, while Dr OD Sharma, Chairman Badminton Association of J&K and Usman Choudhary, DySP Samba were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed upon the need for more and more sports among the youth and assured that the required infrastructure for this game will be coming up in the district.
More than 100 boys and girls participated in the championship.
Office bearers of Badminton Association, J&K as well as District Association including DV Sharma, Balbir Jamwal, Rahul Sharma, Raju Sharma, Naresh Singh, Vishal Dubey and Ajat Shatru Singh were present during the event.
