Badminton C’ship organised for teachers

JAMMU, Dec 30: J&K General Line Teachers Forum organized the first ever Badminton tournament under the guidance of UT president Neeraj Sharma especially for teachers working in Government and private schools in which 39 teachers from different fields participated, here today.
The program was inaugurated by Pawan Kumar Gupta, former Minister. He said that the teachers can perform better in schools by including sports in their daily routine. Games will keep their mind fresh, physically fit and add discipline to their study routine. Skills like coordination, multitasking and situational awareness will help in enhancing their academic skills.
Chief Education Officer, Arvin Kumar Koul was chief guest at the valedictory function. The chief guest congratulated the Forum for organising such a sports event for the fitness of teacher faculty.
In the single category event, Abhishek Kumar was declared winner while in the doubles category, Vipul and Ajay won the tournament. District president Avinash Thappa presented a vote of thanks.
Rakesh Sharma, Anil Kumar, Vikas Raina, Sham Lal, Vinod Kumar, Kewal Krishan, Amar Dev Singh, Ved Kumar, Sanjay Gupta, Sohan Lal and Ramesh Chander were the members of the organising committee.
