JAMMU, May 24: The Badminton & Table Tennis Tournament of Sector Jammu staff of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Katra got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organised under the chairmanship of Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Addl Chief Executive Officer, SMVD Shrine Board, while Ashok Kumar, Director Sports Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board formally declared the tournament open in the indoor complex of MA Stadium Jammu.
The objective behind holding the tournament was mainly to provide platform to the employees of SMVD Shrine Board to exhibit their skills
The matches were officiated by Vikrant Singh, Raju Sharma, Dhanraj Salathia and Dalbir Singh
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Krupali Singh (Arjuna Awardee),Gymnastic Coach, Shivani Goel, Dy Manager Vaishnavi Dam, K K Kaul.
Earlier, in badminton singles semifinal, Pardeep Jamwal beat Jagdish Kumar by 2-0 by (21-12,21-18), while Balraj Singh got better of Raj Kumar by 2-0.
Meanwhile, in Table Tennis singles, semifinal, Balraj Singh beat Raj Kumar by 2-1 by (11-7,4-11,11-9), while Pardeep Jamwal beat Sampooran by 2-0.
