Bail denied in rape case

JAMMU, July 29: Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi Kamlesh Pandita rejected the bail application of one Romail Singh S/o Bhagat Ram R/o Village Mali Kote, Tehsil Chassana, District Reasi who was allegedly involved in rape case.
According to the police case that the accused person has been arrested in a case registered vide FIR No. 14/2016 for the commission of offence under-Section 376 RPC. Police report further reveals that on April 11, 2016, the complainant had gone to graze her cattle in the jungle/forest, where accused person suddenly caught hold of her and committed rape. On this report, case under FIR No. 14/2016 for the commission of offence under section 376 RPC came to be registered against the accused and investigation was set in motion.
CJM Reasi Kamlesh Pandita after hearing CPO DP Singh for the State observed that rape is the crime against one’s mind, psyche and reputation, it leaves permanent scar on the life of the victim and it becomes horrendous for the victim of rape to lead a dignified and well respected life in the society. It is very sad that now a days, we see marked increase in the rape instances and ravenous maniacs are not sparing even the girls of tender age and the court in such offence has to take a call and exercise jurisdiction in such a way, which appreciates the civil society at large.
With these observations, Court rejected the bail application.
