Bajaj Auto contributes Rs 20 cr to PM’s National Relief Fund

NEW DELHI: Bajaj Auto today announced a contribution of Rs 20 crore towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help relief operations in flood-ravaged Jammu & Kashmir.

Over 200 persons have been killed in the worst floods to have devastated the northern state in a century.

“We feel the grief of our fellow citizens in the state and they need our help at this critical time to come out of this tragedy and to rebuild their lives,” Bajaj Auto Ltd Chairman Rahul Bajaj said in a statement.

The company would like to join the government’s effort to help in relief operations in Jammu & Kashmir and provide all support to the affected countrymen in the state, he added.

Bajaj Group of companies and trusts are very actively involved in various CSR and philanthropic activities such as education and health and expect to contribute more than Rs 150 crore during the current financial year 2014-15. (AGENCIES)
