BAJALTA, Feb 9: Bajalta Kings defeated Bain Gladiators while Agore Superjets won a sensational match against Aithem Super Warriors in the Maruti Suzuki Nagrota Premier League Tournament, an initiative of MLA Devender Singh Rana, here.
Played at sprawling Bajalta play field in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Bain Gladiators won the toss and put Bajalta Kings to bat first. Getting a good start, Bajalata Kings scored 142 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 14 overs.
Bain Gladiators, in reply managed to score 139 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 4 runs. Pankaj Sharma of Bajalta Kings scored 64 runs and Gul Mohammad contributed 32 runs.
Waris of Bain Gladiators was the top scorer with 32 followed by Muneer with 24 runs. Pankaj Sharma was adjudged as man of the match for scoring 64 runs.
From Bajalta Kings, Hameed took 2 wickets, while Iftikhar of Bain Gladiators also bagged 2 wickets.
In the second match, Aithem Super Warriors won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Agore Superjets scored 145 runs in the stipulated 14 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Rahul Verma and Vikas Singh were the top scorers with 30 and 25 runs respectively.
Aithem Super Warriors managed to score 134 runs in allotted 14 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus lost the match by 12 runs. Vikas and Ajeet of the team claimed two wickets each. Vikas Singh was adjudged as man of the match for scoring 25 runs and taking 2 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman and Pankaj Sasun.
Member BCCI Ranjeet Kalra, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, besides Sarpanch Bajalta Ch Rehmat Ali , Sarpanch Aithem Balwant Singh and Tejpal Singh from Agore were present on the occasion.
Both the matches were played under the overall supervision of Faheem Tak, vice president Take-1 Channel and Member Organizing Committee.
