Bal Chetna Shivir held at KV Kargil

JAMMU, June 7: Art of Living organized “Bal Chetna Shivir” for the students of KV–Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kargil marking the advent of Art of Living teachings in the Ladakh region of the State.
A large number of children, studying between 3rd and 8th classes took part in this shivir.
In the camp, the children were taught by the Art of Living volunteer, Jammu Chapter Suman Sharma regarding concentration techniques by way of meditation for a relaxed and stress-free mind. They were also taught yoga and pranayam techniques for a better physical and mental health.
The children were also briefed about the knowledge points enunciated by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual guru, humanitarian leader and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation.
Similar camps were also organised in Jammu region at different Government Primary and Middle Schools in Sarwal, Roop Nagar and Janipur areas, private and NGO run schools at Channi Himmat, Nagrota, Bishnah, Bhagwati Nagar and Kathua.
The Bal Chetna Shivirs were aimed at reaching out to the underprivileged children, instilling human values and a sense of belongingness in them.
The camps gave valuable lessons of sharing and how to deal with criticism. Children were made to play games and participate in other activities which imparted a moral sense in them.
