Balbir cautions about 3rd wave

JAMMU, June 17: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, has urged the Government of Union Territory of J&K to study and act timely on the action plan suggested by the High Level Committee to effectively contain the third wave of COVID-19.
Balbir said that although the UT administration has succeeded to some extent in controlling the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, but, at the same time, it should start preparing itself to face the third wave in advance. He said that the suggestions of the High Level Committee, which has laid stress on creation of additional health infrastructure, need to be studied minutely and given practical shape seriously.
Balbir said that the UT administration should strengthen ICU facilities in the new Govt. Medical Colleges, ramp up Obstetric High Dependency Unit capacity and create 10-bedded dedicated COVID-19 Padiatric Ward in every District Hospital, as has been suggested by the said Committee.
He also reminded the people to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines/SOPs, failing which may invite the virus to attack and cause harm to the precious human lives.
Meanwhile, Balbir Ram Rattan, asked the UT administration to take immediate and effective measures to implement the instructions of the Department of Pension, Union Ministry of Personnel, to process the Family Pension cases within one month from the date of receipt of applications of eligible cases from the family members of the government employees, who lost their lives due to COVID -19.
