JAMMU, Aug 25: In order to conduct the physical verification of the units financed by J&K SC, ST and BC Development Corporation Limited and have direct interaction with the beneficiaries, the Corporation Vice-Chairperson Balbir Ram Rattan visited the units set up in different parts of Srinagar by availing loans from the Corporation.
Rattan was accompanied by Financial Advisor/CAO, Vijay Kumar Tak, Divisional Manager, Kashmir, Arshad Bhat, District Manager, Srinagar, Arif Haleem Khan and Accountant, Kashmir Divisional Office, Babar Bashir Wani.
The units inspected included medical equipments shop with water and air purifying appliances, stationery shop, provisional store etc. in Lal Mandi, Wazir Bagh and Iqbal Park areas.
While a physically challenged person Gurdeep Singh has setup medical equipments plus water and air purifying appliances unit, Harminder Singh is running a stationery shop with financial assistance from the Corporation. Similarly, Fayaz Ahmed Khan has set up provision store by availing loan from the Corporation.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the grit and gumption of physically handicapped entrepreneur in Iqbal Park sends a broad message for self sustenance and also provide employment for other, as he has helped four other unemployed youth to be self reliant. The person with such courage has not allowed his disability to come in the way to march forward towards progress and becoming a beacon light to other people, who are suffering from physical disabilities, the VC said.
