Balwan assures adequate compensation to flood victims

JAMMU, Dec 1: Continuing his election campaign, Senior Congress leader and party candidate for Marh constituency Balwan Singh today visited village Malki Chack, Haripur, Toph Manhasa Alora and held series of public meetings.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Singh criticized Govt functionaries for not paying heeds towards the flood victims, who have suffered a huge loss in recent flash floods in term of land, crops, cattle, houses  etc.
He regretted that huge agriculture land in this belt has already been washed away in the recent floods so there was a need to take some effective steps. He assured and promised, construction of a concrete ‘Bundh’ on the embankment of the Tawi river to save Tawi Island, if he is voted to power.
He also promised adequate compensation for the flood victims as soon as possible and also assured recruitment rallies in police and other paramilitary forces for the youth of the Assembly.
He also said that the old bridge over ‘Nikki Tawi’ need to be repaired and demanded a new bridge nearby connecting these villages.
“RBA status for IB saying that International Border (IB) across Jammu region especially along Marh segment deserves to be included under Reserve Backward Area (RBA) Category” said Balwan assuring that if is Congress voted to power it will give RBA status to border Inhabitants who are regularly facing the brunt of border fury.
