Balwant Thakur relieved of as Director ICCR Jammu

JAMMU, June 5:  Balwant Thakur has been relieved of as Director of the  Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Jammu Regional Office.
According to the officials sources, an order in this regard was issued by the ICCR Headquarters  in New Delhi.
Pertinent to mention that the ICCR  works for formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people; and to develop relations with nations.
ICCR  Jammu office was inaugurated by Dr  Karan Singh, then president ICCR and Member of Parliament, on  May 25, 2012 and Balwant Thakur was appointed as its Director.
