JAMMU, Nov 21: Middle-order batsman Bandeep Singh’s unbeaten 68 runs and brief contributions from Majid Dar (35), Adil Reshi (32) and Samiullah Beigh (27) not out, helped Jammu and Kashmir to score 173 runs at stumps on day-1 of the Ranji Trophy Group-C match against Andhra Pradesh at Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur in AP, today.
Put into bat, J&K had a disastrous start as out of form opening batsman Ian Dev Singh was dismissed in the 9th over at his individual score of 3 runs and the team’s total of 20 runs. Then Reshi alongwith number 3 batsman Bandeep Singh tried to consolidate the innings, but was dismissed at his individual score of 32 runs by medium pacer Shivkumar in 17th over and the innings total of 43 runs, which was followed by the dismissal of skipper Parvez Rasool for naught and the team’s total of 44/3 in 18 overs. However, a good partnership of 68 runs between Bandeep Singh and Majid Dar took the score to 112, before Dar got run out at his individual score of 35 runs, studded with 3 fours and one six. Mohsin Iqbal (0) and Owais Shah (0) made it 113/6 in 58.4 overs. However, the duo of Bandeep Singh and Samiullah Beigh remained unconquered at their individual scores of 68 and 27 runs respectively, making a valuable partnership of 60 runs and taking the total to 173 runs in 90 overs, before the stumps were drawn today.
For Andhra, SM Basha bagged 2 wickets, while DP Vijaykumar, D Shivkumar and K Harish shared one wicket each.
