Bani area facing acute ration scarcity

KATHUA, Sept 2: The residents of Bani area are facing acute shortage of ration for last three months and consumers are deprived of getting the Government ration on subsidiary rates. The Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries are badly affected due to poor management of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department as BPL families were not issued the ration since last three months in far flung areas.
The Ex Deputy speaker, Ghulam Hyder Malik, Sarpanch Rattan Lal,Abdul Hamid, Amaranth alleged that the consumers of hilly and far-flung areas are not given the Government ration as per scale. The dealers of private or Government always show their excuse of delay in ration supply or poor quantity of ration. The consumers are not given ration on monthly basis which has been a cause of concern for them.
The families of BPL category are mostly affected as ration is not seen anywhere. The dealer motivates the consumer to purchase APL ration in place of BPL with the excuse as there is no supply of BPL from Central Government.
They demanded to implement on line ration sale depot point connected with internet to know the actual ground situation of ration supply. As the rainy season and snow bound areas do not get ration whole the year they said that the poor population is facing number of hardship in such situation.
