JAMMU, Oct 22: Pall of gloom has descended Bani after the dead bodies of two youth of the area were recovered from a deep gorge in on Bani Basholi road by Bani Police today.
They have been identified as Jeewan, 22, S/o Dharan Chand of Banjal Bani and Bishen 34, S/o Sher Singh of Gatti Bani.
According to police, the duo had left Bani for Kathua two days back in an Alto car bearing number JK08 D 4779 to make purchasing for Dewali festival and while on their return from Kathie to Bani in the evening they had made last call with their family members at 8 pm from Mahanpur. However they did not reach home later and there was no communication with them with the result their family members became panicky.
Police said this morning some GREF jawans who were on their way to Bani saw some luggage and goods scattered on the road and on the slope of a hill near Sheetal Nagri.
They informed the Police which swung into action and found the bodies of two youth in  400 feet down gorge.
The police shifted the bodies to Bani Hospital and after postmortem they were handed over to their respective families for last rites.
The Bani Police has registered a case under Section 279,337 and 304 RPC. It is presumed that the Alto car might have met the accident at the sharp curve and fell down into the gorge resulting into the instant death of the two youth.
