Bantalab facing acute water crisis

JAMMU, Apr 20: The inhabitants of the Bantalab and the adjoining areas which included Adrash Nagar, Ganga Nagar, Bharat Nagar, KB Nagar, Poonch Colony, who were facing acute water crisis have sought the intervention of LG, Manoj Sinha in solving the problem.
The people alleged that for the past 30 years they are facing water crisis especially in scorching heat of Summer as the water is supplied just for 30-40 minutes twice in a week that too with low pressure.
To highlight such a grave issue, a delegation from Adarsh Welfare Committee Bantalab led by it’s president, Satish Khoda met with the Corporator Ward-63, Kuldeep Singh Chib and brought the matter to his notice. He took serious note of the situation and called on the officials of Jal Shakti Nigam and appraised them public grievances regarding water crisis.
Public alleged that no officials of Jal Shakti Nigam cared for the miseries of the public despite repeated complaints.
But after the constant public pressure Jal Shakti Nigam officials comprising AEE Mechanical Division, AEE Bantalab (PHE) and others have sought the time of one week to redress the water scarcity issues in Bantalab.
People have warned that if the authorities will not come out for the redressal of water scarcity crisis within weeks time, they will come on roads with full strength.
