JAMMU, Apr 6: With the new session commencing soon, Banyan International School invited all of the parents of the new students to take part in an Orientation Programme to introduce them to the faculty and to also inform them regarding the various initiatives and programmes that the School will be starting this year.
These include EduSports-where all students are taught coordination, balance and fitness techniques; Yardstick-a modular Science kit where students from Class 1st to 8th perform experiments throughout the year that reinforce scientific concepts that are taught in class; Grammar Express–designed specifically to improve the fundamental grammatical skills of each student; Math Navigator–designed specifically to identify and remove gaps from the foundational Math skills; Written Expression–an activity that allows students to develop their writing skills; Mystery Science–a club that lets students perform independent exploration and investigation; the 15 Books Campaign–designed to inculcate a love of reading in all students and Digitally–top of the line Smartboard technology that is used to make the classroom experience varied and exciting.
The School will also be launching a year-long initiative that will attempt to revive local music, dance and art forms, showcasing these throughout the academic session.
The Principal, Shounak Lahiri, also addressed the parents about the home-school partnership and how transparency and accountability would lead to the best possible learning outcomes for the children.
“Banyan International School has partnered with Pearson Schools to provide the students of Jammu with a globally competitive education, preparing them to tap their potential and be future-ready global citizens,” said Mr Lahiri.
