JAMMU, Nov 29: Banyan International School organised a two-day visit to Old Age Home and Orphanage with an aim to learn the values of sharing and caring.
On the first day, 45 Scouts and Guides visited both the places followed by students of Grades IX and X on the second day.
Keeping harsh winter season in mind, the Management Committee of the school took initiative to distribute warmers among the inmates of Old Age Home.
Students also distributed different food items and clothing among the inmates and sought wishes and blessings from them. Feelings of sympathy, sadness and shock aroused in many students when inmates of Old Age Home, shared their personal experience with them.
The students presented some performances which were liked by the inmates.
After spending some time in Old Age Home, students moved to the orphanage which was just a few steps away.
Here also students distributed food items like rice, white flour, pulses, mustard oil and spices. They also distributed some daily need items like soaps, detergent and toothpaste etc.
Then the students along with the staff members interacted with children of Orphanage and spent valuable time with them.
They also visited their well-maintained dormitories and the schools being run by the centre inside the premises of Orphanage.
This trip was a great experience to help them understand the joy of giving and making others happy.
