Baramulla Premier League gets underway

BARAMULLA, Nov 9: The Baramulla Premier League, which is being organized by Army, started in Degree College ground, here today.
An official said total 16 teams distributed in four pools are participating in the tournament from areas in and around Baramulla town including Sheeri, Janbazpura and Delina.
He said the tournament is on knockout basis spanning over a schedule of 15 matches.
Organized under aegis of Dagger Division by Army’s 46 RR, the idea behind, he said, this tournament is to foster goodwill among the youth and inculcate sporting culture. ”The initiative of the unit has been greatly appreciated by the sporting community,” he said.
In the inaugural match today played between Sheri star and Star XI, the Star XI batting first, scored 173/8 in 20 overs whereas Sheri Star scored only 132/8 in allotted 20 overs.
