JAMMU, Dec 31: Taking cognizance of the harsh Winter period, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State secretary and local Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Sanjay Baru along with the Red Cross Society secretary, Dinesh Gupta, Tehsildar Jammu West, Rajesh Kumar and other prominent social and political activists of the area, distributed blankets among the needy of Ward No. 41 at Patta Chungi Basti, Talab Tillo, Bohri.
Sanjay Baru, while addressing the gathering said that the whole region is witnessing severe cold wave and many persons do not have any access to the basic amenities to face the wrath of nature. He said that he was apprised of the poor condition of certain families living in the Ward and since then he was thinking how to help them to some extent. He complimented the Red Cross Society which is always available at the time of requirement to the needy population at one call. He also appealed to the general public to come forward for the noble cause by helping out the poor.
Sanjay, complimented the former Minister Sat Sharma, as he had provided the special funds for the purchase of new water supply line pipes out of his CDF during his tenure as MLA Jammu West.
Dinesh Gupta, disclosed that the Red Cross Society, Jammu has initiated a mission, under which all the needy living in open, in suburbs and other such areas, prone to the open chill in Jammu city and adjoining areas will be provided aid and relief especially in the form of blankets etc. He complimented the local leader and the Tehsildar for their assistance in the gracious work and asked the general masses to contribute in the noble cause.
