Basit, Rohit make it to semis in Junior Snooker C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 22: Basit Wani and Rohit Chowdhary made it to semis of Junior Snooker, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Basit Wani defeated Mohit Khajuria by 2-0, whereas in the second match, Aasim defeated Danish Gupta by 2-1.
Kunal Jamwal registered win over Raza Aijaz by 2-0 in the third game, whereas in the fourth match, Abhishek Mehra crushed Rajat Chowdhary by 2-0.
In the fifth match, Arjun Singh crushed Pankaj Kumar by 2-0, whereas in the sixth game, Rohit Choudhary registered win over Furkan Wani by 2-0.
Aqib Farooq outplayed Aman Sharma by 2-0 in the seventh game, whereas in the eighth match, Basit Wani defeated Abhishek Mehra by 2-1.
In the ninth match, Vipin Malhi registered win over Kunal Jamwal by 2-0 and in the tenth match, Rohit Chowdhary beat Aasim by 2-0.
Meanwhile, Ansh Chopra with his marvelous skills clinched the title of Sub-Junior Billiards Championship by smashing Sanand Sharma by straight 3-0 frames with the score of 51-24, 51-22 and 53-22. It is to mention here here that Ansh Chopra had also lifted Sub-Junior Snooker Championship title yesterday.
The matches were being held under strict supervision of the JKBSA members and played with the rules and regulations of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Pawan Khajuria and Ashok.
According to JKBSA spokesman, Junior Billiards Championship will commence at same venue from tomorrow.
