The grateful people of Basohli, and those living in the towns and villages of the neighboring states thank, Atal BihariVajpayee former Prime Minister of India, from the core of their heart for the timely support he has rendered to the affected and isolated human beings by the back waters of Ranjeet Sagar dam. Sanctioning a cable stayed bridge over river Ravi doesn’t provide only connectivity but it is testimony of benevolence, far-sightedness and solidaritywhich he has shown for the affected population. Vajpayee Ji gave wings to the dreams the natives have been nurturing since decades.
In the coming days the Ravi bridge will throw open the flood gates of progress and development not only in a particular area but it will usher in an era of prosperity throughout the state. Basohli will regain its lost glory which it possessed during the sixteenth and seventeenth century. Being situated at the historical silk route Basohli will again emerge as the business, art, culture, tourism and educational hub in the state. Moreover the people are grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for readily acceding to the demand of the people for giving Atal Setu name to the Ravi bridge.
