JAMMU, Feb 21: Outplaying the formidable team of POWERGRID in the summit clash, the strong and well balanced team of BBMB clinched the title trophy in the 19th Inter CPSU Volleyball Tournament 2015 played at Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala. With this win, the defending champions BBMB managed to retain the championship title.
It is pertinent to mention here that BBMB has been champion of Inter CPSU volleyball tournaments for the last 17 years.
In a high voltage match, POWERGRID gave a good fight to BBMB, however, BBMB finally prevailed over its rival to win the title.
Earler, in the match for the 3rd position, SJVNL trounced THDC to emmerge 2nd runners-up of the tournament.
In the three day tournament Volley ball players from all the participating teams i.e. Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd (POWERGRID), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry Of Power (MOP), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), National Hydro Electric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC), Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited (THDC) and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL) showcased their skills and talent during their respective matches and ensured that auidence were treated with best volleyball display
After the matches the closing ceremony was held in which prizes and medals were distributed among the players and match officials.
The closing ceremony was chaired by S K Sharma, Executive Director POWERGRID NRTS-II. S D Joshi GM (Projects), R S Singh, AGM (Punjab), Daljit Singh, Head Coach Volleyball NSNIS, G K Verma Assistant. GM (POWERGRID-Patiala) and R Narayan, Chief Manager (HR) were among the prominent persons who graced the occasion.
S K Sharma distributed the prizes among the winners.
