UDHAMPUR, May 20: On the birth centenary year of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, a handball match was organized by BBSV Peeth Udhampur in collaboration with Lakshya- The Aim (NGO) in the school premises, with an initiative to promote sportsmanship among the students.
The programme started with the welcome of the chief guest, Didi Swami Chinmay Jyoti Ji, Chairperson BBSV Peeth followed by the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest along with the President Lakshya- The Aim (NGO), Ravesh Mengi, Treasurer Lakshya Harsh Jasrotia, Co-ordinator Udhampur Vikas Bharat, Anuradha Sharma, City-Coordinator Sanjay Verma, Ranjana Gupta, Rishav Sharma, Principal BBSVP Shakuntla Kotwal and Mohan Lal Sharma, Administrator.
The programme started with a welcome song presented by the cadets of Scouts & Guides followed by National song ‘Vande Matram’ presented by secondary section students.
Raveesh Mengi gave a welcome speech and said that such activities would keep the youth away from drugs and other social evils.
The welcome address was followed by the Biography of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya presented by Puran Ji .
The handball match was played between Team Maruti and Team Shiva.Team Shiva won the match in a thrilling contest by 21-20.
After the match, an inspirational speech was given by the Chief Guest followed by the prize distribution by Chief Guest and Principal Shakuntala.
In the end, the vote of thanks was given by the President Management Committee BBSV Peeth, Raj Guru Ji.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The match was co-ordinated by Vindo Sharma, PGT (Physical Education) and Vipan Photra (Handball Coach).
