JAMMU, Apr 20: The formidable sides of BCC Bulls and Chenab Tigers Bhaderwah got the better of their rivals to better their chances of making it to the last eight stage in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL), being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at GGM Science College, here.
Earlier, in the first match, BCC Bulls drubbed Ishar Daredevils by 7 wickets in a low scoring game.
Winning the toss and batting first, Ishar Daredevils scored 92 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Deepak Dogra scored 26 runs, while Manjeet Singh contributed 16 runs to the total. For BCC Bulls, Saqib, Asif and Amir Sofi clinched 2 wickets each, while Rompy, Amir Aziz and Satish Kumar claimed one wicket each.
BCC Bulls chased the required runs in just 16 overs, losing with 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Imran Haroon top scored with 41 runs, while Imtiaz Malik contributed 24 runs to the total. For Ishar Daredevils, Mayank Goutam took 2 wickets, while Deepak Dogra claimed one. Imran Haroon was declared as man of the match for his brilliant knock of 41 runs.
In another match, star-studded Chenab Tigers registered a 4-wicket win over strong side of Chenab Gas Royals again in a low scoring match. Chenab Gas Royals Jammu made a paltry total of 98 runs, with Ateev Saini and Pardeep Bali contributing 25 and 23 runs to the total. For Tigers, Asif Rasool and Abid Mushtaq took 2 wicket each, while Raman Dutta and skipper Shafqat Baba claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Chenab Tigers reached the target in style as Shafqat Baba hit a massive six to take his side home in 19.2 overs. Abid Mushtaq was the top scorer with 23 runs, while Asif Rasool and Ishtiaq Rasool chipped in with 16 runs each. Abid Mushtaq was adjudged man of the match.
The matches are being officiated by Sudhir Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Amit Gupta, Harbinder Singh, Sadiq Hussain Malik and JD Singh as umpires, while Suhail Yousuf, Vinod, Nitu Khokhar and Sandeep Manchanda maintain the scorebooks.
In the post match presentation, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu was the chief guest, while Ranjeet Kalra, Member BCCI and J&K State Sports Council was the guest of honour, who gave away the cash prizes including Rs.10,000 to the winning teams and outstanding players of the day.

In tomorrow’s fixture, JKP Tigers will take on Ishar Daredevils, while Chenab Gas Royals will face Jammu Royal Choice XI.
