The complaint against these persons was that they had committed large scale irregularities while executing Rural Sanitation Scheme at Jhallas.
After receiving the complaints, State Vigilance Organization conducted Preliminary Enquiry into the matter against the delinquent officials, which revealed that the toilet units constructed by the Rural Development Department were of no use as these units were not constructed as per the specifications and the material used was sub standard.
It was also noticed during the inquiry that there were irregularities in the purchase of material and the procedure laid down by the Government was ignored. The samples collected by the Vigilance team during spot verification of various works in Jhullas were sent to Director FSL, who furnished test results with the report that the samples were not found as per the specifications.
After hearing both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge observed, “not even a single allegation has been proved by the prosecution against any of the accused and the amount thereof has not been proved embezzled or misappropriated by the accused”.
“The net result is that the prosecution has failed to prove its case. As such, the accused are acquitted of the charges framed against them”, the court said while ordering release of accused on furnishing bail bonds.
