SRINAGAR: Office of a Block Development Officer (BDO) was gutted in fire in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said on Friday.
They said fire broke out under mysterious circumstances in a BDO office in village Aloosa in Bandipora last night. Fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to douse the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
However, before the blaze could be brought under control, the building was damaged, they said, adding the official records of the block were gutted in the incident.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. Police have registered a case and initiated investigation. (AGENCIES)
