JAMMU, Jan 22: In the world of tennis, 10-year-old Erin Mir of Srinagar is making history by becoming the first girl from J&K to place in the top 20 of the All India Ranking, thus bringing honour to Jammu and Kashmir.
Erin began her professional training on March 1st, 2022, . Her unwavering dedication and tireless work ethic on the court have distinguished her. Erin accomplished a noteworthy accomplishment on November 23, 2023, when she won the AITA Under-12 Championship series for the first time.
Despite starting as a newcomer in the AITA rankings, her ascent to the 27th rank in the country within a short span of time is an ample testimony to her perseverance and hard work. She is first girl from J&K to break into top 20’s of All India Ranking. Erin Mir’s remarkable success not only reflects her dedication and progress but also underscores the sheer determination of this young player to excel in the sport.
