JAMMU, Jan 14 : Taking National Conference general secretary Sheikh Nazir to task for demanding plebiscite, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig has asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah to explain their stand on the controversial issue.
Mr Beig also dubbed NC as Ravana with many heads and sought to know if there was any Lord Rama and Hanuman to vanquish the contemporary demon king.
The PDP leader, in a statement, lambasted the National Conference leadership for its double speak by raising slogans of plebiscite and repudiating the Constitution of India but contesting elections and becoming Ministers by taking oath of upholding India’s territorial integrity.
He said that people of J&K have the right to ask if demanding plebiscite is fundamental right, then why Hurriyat Conference should be treated as enemies for raising the same demand but allowing NC to rule the State.
Terming the plebiscite issue as dead, the PDP leader alleged that NC was reviving the controversial demand for blackmailing India and Congress party. “By making such statements, the NC leaders want to convey they should always be allowed to rule J&K State or they will revive the erstwhile Plebiscite Front, he alleged.
Mr Beig further alleged that NC was the main cause of political uncertainty in the State and hostile relations between India and Pakistan. “They (NC) have played politics on both sides of the fence and have drowned three generations of Kashmiri youth in the sea of confusion, alienation and even violence,” he added.
The PDP leader appealed people of J&K, particularly the young generation, to see through the treacherous and hypocritical game of NC and reject it with all the moral and political force at their command.
