Ghaziabad, Jan 24:
The Ranji Trophy Group A match between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal ended in a draw with final days play today was abandoned.
Both the teams got one point each. Despite the sunshine on the third and fourth days, the outfield at the Mohan Meakins cricket stadium was too damp for play to resume, and the match referee Manu Nayar, along with captains Piyush Chawla and Laxmi Ratan Shukla, agreed to call it off. The result also meant that with two games remaining, Bengal had slipped to seventh position with 11 points in the Group A points table while UP continued to languish at the bottom of the table with eight points.
