‘Best out of Waste’ competition held

JAMMU, Oct 6: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur organised national level online competition on ‘Best out of Waste’.
A large number of students from various colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition. The purpose of the competition was to aware students about waste materials and to inculcate a habit of reducing waste materials among them.
Students prepared creative and innovative art and crafts pieces from different waste materials like newspapers, ice-cream sticks, plastic bottles, fused bulbs, shoe boxes, wool yarn, socks etc during the competition.
The first position was secured by Seema Thakur of GCW Gandhi Nagar whereas 2nd position was shared by Poonam Sharma of BMS Institute of Para Medical Sciences and Akansha Rajput of SMVDU and 3rd position was shared by Palvi of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and Sanyum Kumar of IITM Murthal Haryana.
The consolations prizes were awarded to Tamana of Sri Sai Public School Jammu, Mitali Rathore of GGM Science College Jammu, and Mridhu Sharma from SKUAST Jammu and Ashish Chouhan of DCRUST University Delhi-NCR.
The event was judged by Dr Shittal Sharma, Prof Anil Bhagat and Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch of GDC Vijaypur under the overall supervision of College Principal, Dr Sangeeta Sudan while Ritika Sharma coordinated the event. E-certificates were awarded to all the winners.
