Bethel Trust, Spring Dales log wins in 4th Christmas Soccer C’ship

JAMMU, Dec 18: Bethel Trust Football XI and Spring Dales Football XI registered emphatic wins against their rivals and entered in to the semifinals of the ongoing “4th Christmas Soccer Championship for college students and JK footballers”, which is being played at Science College Football Ground, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Christian Sports Organization and Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
The Organizing Committee members include Rajesh Gill, Victor Sotra,  Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunny Gill, Nitu Khokher, Sunil Sambyal, Sandeep Manchanda and Raju.
The slogan of the tournament is – “ Be healthy- Don’t Do Drugs”.
Ranjeet Singh Assistant Commissioner Nazool Jammu was the chief guest in today’s match who was introduced with the participating players before the start.
He conveyed his best wishes to the teams and also greeted the organizing team of  Christian Sports Organization for conducting soccer championship for youths and college students on the occasion of Christmas.
Today, the quarter final match between Bethel Trust Football XI and Ladakh Football Club was played in which Bethel Trust Football team registered empathetic win with 5-4 goals in a tie breaker.
From Ladakh  Football Club Kivan, Sothi, Fikker and Jigme were the four players who scored goals,  from Bethel Trust Abhishek and Arun who succeeded in scoring goals through plenty kicks thus won the match by 5-4.
Another quarterfinal match was played between Spring Dales FC and Srinagar FC in which Spring Dales FC registered win by a solitary goal (1-0). Anmol Thakyal was the main player who scored the only goal in the 63rd minute of the game.
The referees of the match were Harneel Singh, Altaf Ahmad, Ranjay Kumar, Mohinder and Kamal.
