JAMMU, Nov 19: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh today said that a comprehensive plan is being implemented for providing improved basic amenities to the people like health, road connectivity, electricity, education and safe drinking water.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a public grievances redressal camp, here today.
The Minister said that the present Coalition Government has taken various reformative steps and has ensured that the hospitals are equipped with adequate staff and latest machinery and equipments, adding that seven nursing homes including model hospitals have also been opened by the Government.
After giving a patient hearing to the demands and grievances of the people, the Minister directed the concerned officers to take immediate necessary action for redressal of the grievances .
Responding to the various demands of the people of the area, the Minister said that instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities of the Health Department to ensure that best healthcare facilities are proviced to the people in the hospitals.
During the camp, the Minister also appealed the people to avail the benefits of ‘Ladli Beti’ scheme launched by the Government for addressing the concerns of girl’s right from the birth to adulthood and providing financial security that enables to create a strong positive disposition towards the girl child.
Highlighting the benefits of Ladli Beti, Choudhary Lal Singh informed that under the scheme, a contribution of Rs. 1000 per month will be made towards the birth of every girl with effect from 01-04-2015 for the next 14 years and on reaching 21 years she would receive around Rs. 6.5 lakh.
