Harsha Kakar The total allocation to the MoD in the defence budget this year remained at the same level as in the interim budget at Rs 4.31 Lakh Crores, which includes 1.12 Lakh Crores for defence pensions. This works out to 2.04 percent of the GDP and approximately 15.5% of the total central government expenditure. This is clearly a downward trend from previous years.
