BGSBU holds awareness camp

RAJOURI, Mar 21: In order to empower women folk, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organized awareness camp in collaboration with J&K Women Development Corporation (WDC) at Girls Hostel, here today.
The girls were offered educational loan up to Rs 20 lakh on only 3 percent interest rate which is the lowest rate being given by any agency in India.
On the directions of Vice Chancellor, Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal,  a programme was organized in Girls Hostel of BGSB University in which Registrar and Dean Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary was chief guest, while District Manager of WDC for Rajouri Nasreen Gul was invited as speaker.
Deputy Director of Physical Education and Sports, Mohammad Din, Resident Warden Mubina Kousar and other staff and girls students were present on the occasion.
In his message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Irshad Ahmed Hamal said that this will be a major help to the girl students from Women Development Corporation that loan is being provided on meagre interest rate.
Terming the WDC’s Educational Loan scheme as major help by the Corporation for empowerment of women, chief guest on the occasion, Registrar Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary said that University is sincere for women empowerment.
Meanwhile, presenting detailed report of the activities of WDC, District Manager Nasreen Gul said that the Corporation is implementing various schemes like National Minorities Development, National Backward Classes Finance, National Handicapped Finance, Empowering Skilled Yong Women Scheme, and Skill Development, Vocational Training Programmes.
The proceedings of the programme was conducted by Assistant to Dean of Students, RC Bhat.
