RAJOURI, Jan 22: Bringing laurels for Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, student Waqar Mehmood Khan was adjudged among 3 toppers in 30th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival in which 25 Universities of 7 States of North India participated.
The Festival was hosted by University of Jammu, Jammu under the aegis of Indian Association Universities for the first time and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s BBA student of 4th Semester brought laurels to the University by winning position in the event of Light Indian Solo song from 25 Universities of 7 States of North India.
The University team participated in about 12 event of the Festival “ UDGHOSH”-15 and showed best performance in Light Indian Solo and regional Indian Folk Song.
The students were well dressed in traditional Gojari and Pahari wears.
The University Team also participated in Western Solo, Western Group Solo, Folk Dance Dogri, besides Quiz, Rangoli, and on the painting competition etc.
A 20-member University contingent was escorted by Mohammad Din, Deputy Director Sports and Culture as General Manager, while Vishal Sharma, Lecturer English and Netu Jamwal were in-charge men and women contingent respectively.
Prof I A Hamal, Vice Chancellor of the University and Registrar and Dean of Students, Mohammad Rashid lauded the efforts of the student for this achievement.
