Bhaderwah-Bani-Basohli road opened to traffic

JAMMU, Apr 11: The Border Roads Organization (BRO) finally opened the Bhaderwah-Bani-Basohli road today, which remained closed due to massive snowfall at Chattergalla Pass and upper reaches of Sarthal in Seoj Dhar, separating Doda from Kathua district.
A BRO spokesman said that due heavy snowfall in the area in winter months, comprising of Chattergala Pass, the connectivity between Bani-Bhaderwah was snapped. There was nearly 4 to 7 ft snow in Chattergalla stretch of the road.
The dedicated team consisting of Officer Commanding, Gotam from 114 RCC, alongwith operators and CPLs opened the road axis within the stipulated time under guidance of Brig IK Jaggi, Chief Engineer and Commander, H. Murthy from 35 BRTF, located in Doda area.
Admist all hurdles the team under snow fall and adverse weather conditions, took adequate measures for maintaining the connectivity between Bani and Bhaderwah for the convenience of general public.
The spokesman added that in addition to the snow clearance, the regular work at bridges and permanent works are also in progress. The road axis from Bani to Bhaderwah will remain opened for the ease of general public till next winters, he added.
