Bhaderwah clash victim succumbs

JAMMU, Aug 2: A youth, who was seriously injured in a group clash over management control of a religious place at Sartingal in Bhaderwah town of Doda district on Thursday evening, succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS Srinagar, where he had been referred from Bhaderwah in view of serious head injuries, today.
The deceased has been identified as Sharafat Ali Beig, 26, a Post Graduate student and son of Munir Hussain Baig, a resident of Sartingal.
Condition of Beig’s uncle Farooq Ahmed Beig was serious in the GMC Jammu.
SSP Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan said police has been maintaining strict surveillance at Sartingal and situation there was well under control after Thursday’s clash between two groups of majority community in which a total of 14 persons were injured.
He said senior police officers were camping at the spot to work out patch up formula between the two groups to avoid recurrence of any untoward incident.
