* Nisar Bhalessi wins title trophy

BHADERWAH, Oct 17: Bhaderwah District Indian Style Wrestling Championship, organized by Youth Action Committee Bhaderwah in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army, concluded at New Bus Stand Kotli, here today.
The two days championship was held under the overall supervision of chairman Youth Action Committee Bhaderwah, Naseer Mehboob Padder, general secretary Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, vice president Mohan Singh Baloria, Muzamil Yezdani, treasurer Mohd Hussain Butt and Sudesh Manhas.
In the championship, 40 wrestlers from various Akharas of 10 States participated in nine weight categories of 35 kg, 45 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg, 61 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg and 85+kg, wherein Chairman District Development Council Doda, Dhanter Singh Kotwal was chief guest, while ASP Bhaderwah Abdul Qayoom was guest of honour and SDPO Meer Gafoor, DDC Councillor Thakur Yudvir Singh Baloria, SHO Bhaderwah Jatinder Rakhwal and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik were among the special guests.
They presented medals, turbans and cash prizes among the winners and runner-ups. Overall title of the championship was clinched by Nisar Bhalessi.
The chairman of the Committee Naseer Mehboob said that for the last six years, the NGO has been organising different sporting activities in Bhaderwah for communal harmony, brotherhood and for spreading the message among youth to shun drugs and keep themselves healthy and fit by participating in different sports activities.
The competition was conducted under the supervision of a technical committee, headed by Abdul Haq senior wrestling coach with the help of Subash, Nasir K Shah and Tilak.
