Bhagwat Katha organised

KATRA, Sept 27: As part of the “Navratra Festival” which is being organized by the Tourism Department in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board, Katra, “Bhagwat Katha” at Shri Raghunathji temple, Katra has been organized.  The Katha is being recited by renowned Katha Vachak Sadhvi Tripta Bharati and her disciples.
The 8-day “Bhagwat Katha” is part of the Navratra Festival which is being organized in a very low key manner this year  keeping in view the loss of life and property in the State due to recent catastrophe.
The other events like Shobha Yatra, All India Devotional Song Competition, Wrestling, Hasya Vayang Sammelan etc. have not been organized this year.
On the opening day of Katha, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Shant Manu, DDC Reasi Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Director Tourism, Jammu Soujanya Sharma,  Additional CEO, SMVDSB Dr. M. K. Kumar  lit the traditional  lamp and performed  the Puja-Archana.
Earlier in the day, an impressive Kalash Yatra was taken out in Katra which started from Kalika Mandir, Katra and culminated at Raghunathji Mandir.
Huge crowd of pilgrim tourists as well as locals are attending the “Bhagwat Katha” which is recited every day from 3 pm to 6 pm at Shri Raghunathji Mandir, Katra.
