Bhalla dedicates Rs 1.75 cr PHC to Bhour Camp people

JAMMU, June 23: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today dedicated newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) building to the people of Bhour Camp and its adjoining areas.
Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board Ram Paul Sharma besides Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers and paramedical staff members and locals in large numbers were present on the occasion.
After dedicating the PHC, Mr. Bhalla addressed a largely attended gathering and said the PHC building has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.75 crore   with the facilities like X-ray, dental, laboratory, Gynae and operation theatre.
The Minister said that providing upgraded healthcare facilities to the people of the State is priority of the Government, adding that various initiatives have been taken to strengthen health delivery infrastructure equipped with modern diagnostic facilities in urban as well as rural areas.
Mr. Bhalla said that in order to upgrade the health infrastructure, the construction work on 7-storey 200-beded maternity Hospital is under progress at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 crore near Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital. He said after inauguration of the hospital, the rush of gynae patients in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital would be reduced to a large extent.
The Minister further said that work on 100 bedded Rajiv Gandhi Hospital at Gangyal is also under progress on war-footing which would be completed under NRHM with an estimated cost of Rs 72.45 crore. He said instructions have been issued to the J&K Housing Board to complete the hospital within stipulated time frame with the facilities included OPD Block, IPD Block, Operation theatres, ICU, NICU and other treatment and diagnostic facilities.
