Bhalla describes Baru as great visual artist

JAMMU, Oct 1: Minister for Culture, Horticulture, Housing and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that Pt Sansar Chand Baru, popularly known as ‘Master ji’ has brought great honour to the State through his visual art and contributions in the field.
Speaking at a function jointly organised by Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages on 112th birthday of this great artist, Mr Bhalla recalled the contributions of Master ji in the field of visual art and said that his contribution has brought proud and honour to the State. He said that through the papers presented by Prof Lalit Gupta and N D Jamwal, some of the great achievements of the Master ji have come to light today on his birthday. The Minister said this genius artist of the State have given priceless contributions to the world of painters.
Paying rich tributes to the Master ji for his creative work (paintings/visual art), he congratulated the Trust members and the JKAACL for organizing such a programme. He assured full cooperation from the Government for holding such functions. Mr Bhalla also honoured Prof Nilamber Dev Sharma on behalf of the Trust for his life time contributions in the field of literature.
Director Tourism, Saujanya Sharma also spoke on the work and contributions of Master ji and said that such genius artists are very rare. He said that Master ji was a very simple person with great creative talent and vision. He was source of inspiration for the young artists of this time.
President of the Trust Anuradha Rishi, who is daughter of Master Sansar Chand Baru, earlier welcomed the guests including writers and artists  and spoke on the life and works of Master ji. She shared some of her personal experiences with the audience while she was learning the art from her father.
N D Jamwal and Prof Lalit Gupta presented impressive papers on the life, works, achievements  and contributions of Master ji in the field of Art.
Additional Secretary JKAACL, Arvinder Singh Aman presented vote of thanks while senior journalist and Member Trustee Gopal Sharma was also present on the occasion.
